Astrid Lindgren’s rights company changes its name: from Saltkråkan AB to The Astrid Lindgren Company

In 1998 Astrid Lindgren started the company that was to manage her literary copyrights. It was named Saltkråkan after the book Vi på Saltkråkan [Seacrow Island]. Now, 20 years later, the company is changing its name.

"As our work becomes increasingly international the old company name has been more and more difficult to use", says Olle Nyman, CEO at The Astrid Lindgren Company and Astrid Lindgren’s grandchild. "The new name better reflects what the company does and what copyrights we deal with, regardless if it’s theatre rights for Karlsson-on-the-Roof in Russia or publishing rights for Pippi Longstocking in the USA."

"With The Astrid Lindgren Company we are signalling that we are a proactive rights company with a clear goal to build and develop the authorship as well as our various areas of business in a global market", says Thomas Gustafsson, responsible for business development and strategy.

In connection with the new company name a new logotype has been created in collaboration with itch and Daytona who are a part of Acando’s newly formed Business Design Studio. The next step in the process is an overhaul of the company’s numerous websites. These will be finished in the autumn of 2018.
